John F. Kennedy
What type of president was Kennedy? In my opinion I think Kennedy was a great president by trying to motivate the U.S and the world to be a better nation. “John F. Kennedy had been president for a little more than a thousand days, and in that time he had brought the country through crisis that shook the world. (Johnson. 581). He also made a program called “The New Frontier”; He emphasized fresh solutions to the new, increasingly complex problems faced by the U.S. (Kennedy, 581).
How did the world react to his death? “Historian Herbert S. Parmet has written: few deaths have ever shocked so much of the world. People everywhere reacted with shock, disbelief, and grief. Jimmy Carter, a Georgia farmer who later became president of the U.S said, “I wept openly for the first time in 10years, for the first time since my own father died.” Business and schools closed as American daily life virtually came to halt.”(Marta Randall, 583). He was powerful enough to have his ideas to still be in motion and to be continued by the next president. (Jonson, 584)
Is he a historical figure worth studying? I think he is worth studying, for he opened so many doors for modern day today. Some of Kennedy’s achievements set most of the terms in motion today such as: education for our children, jobs for those who seek them and need them, care for our elderly, and equal rights for all Americans. (Johnson, 584)
