Why People Want

by
Kevin Turner

People have the desire to want
There’s no need to say you don’t
Not even I won’t,
Reject that feeling of something I want
Something to have,
Something to hold
Something hot,
Or something cold
A purse, some shoes, some clothes, or a hat
A pet like a dog, or frog, or cat
You tell people that’s what you want,
And you don’t give up until you get that
Some people wish upon a star
Some pray to the lord a far
Or how many times have you heard this phrase,
“Mama, I want a new car!”
Everyone wants something indeed
Wants grow like a sprouting seed
Therefore, you should take my heed,
Focus more on what you need.
